FSCS Consumer Questions campaign

Background

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is the UK’s compensation fund of last resort for customers of firms authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

A key objective for the organisation is to raise public awareness of FSCS protection, and of the range of financial products that FSCS protects.

Brief

In order to select the most suitable financial product or service for them, consumers need to be sufficiently informed about the protection which is available on any financial product they are considering.

The campaign needed to empower consumers to make informed choices when it came to where to put their money.

Solution

Working with PR agency, Hanover, a social media campaign featuring five key question cards was developed and promoted through FSCS’ owned digital channels, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, advising consumers on the questions they should ask before making any decisions around taking out financial products.

To support the social media campaign, an animated video, factsheet and A4 guide were also produced.
